Lucas Kraemer is an Ecological Restoration Crew Leader with more than five years of experience leading ecological restoration projects throughout Wisconsin. Since joining Heartland's ecological restoration team in 2019, he has supported restoration efforts across energy, private, and public sector projects by evaluating site conditions, monitoring vegetation establishment, identifying invasive species, documenting field progress, and ensuring restoration activities are completed in accordance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.

His technical expertise includes invasive species management, prescribed fire implementation, native seeding, erosion control installation, wetland and prairie restoration, vegetation management, and operation of tractors, UTVs, ATVs, trailers, and other specialized field equipment. Lucas also has experience supporting herptile surveys and relocations and coordinating field crews on complex restoration projects.

Lucas is currently pursuing his Certified Erosion, Sediment and Stormwater Inspector (CESSWI) certification as a response to the increasing federal and state regulations and enforcements. As a result, Lucas is well-versed in the regulations at a federal, state, and local level, the requirements for permit application, related enforcements and penalties, safety concerns surrounding instabalization, and the proper documentation methods.
