Get 'em in while you can!

Heartland successfully kicked off the beginning of our burn season on the west side of Madison this week, while the weather has taken a slight turn, we are patiently waiting for optimal days to execute the remaining 20 burns on our schedule.

Heartland believes that prescribed burn training is vital in safely and effectively implementing prescribed fire as an ecological management tool. All burns are managed by a Burn Boss and all Heartland staff that participate in prescribed burns hold (at minimum) the NWCG S-130 and S-190 certifications or equivalent.

Heartland is a proud member of the Wisconsin Prescribed Fire Council’s (WPFC) Annual Conference, and we follow the implementation and standards as recommended by the WPFC through our staff certifications and documentation efforts.
