The Heartland restoration team joined up with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) to tackle purple loosestrife at Marl Pit Fen, one of the richest calcareous prairie fen sites in southern Wisconsin.
12 volunteers filled 18 55-gallon bags, preventing millions of seeds from falling to the ground.
The team was also able to come together to enjoy a picnic and spend time together, thanks to TJ, Alex, Isa, Juliana, Ben, Brie, Liz, and Aaron for their commitment to removing these non-native species!
