Congratulations to Sarah, Soleil, and Joe on their certification to conduct surveys of Wisconsin's Karner blue butterfly and wild lupine through the WDNR.

The Karner blue butterfly (Lycaeides melissa samuelis) is a small, federally endangered species found in Wisconsin’s open, fire-maintained habitats such as pine barrens and oak savannas, where it depends entirely on wild lupine (Lupinus perennis) as its larval host plant.
